I recently joined the CYPHP Board as Citizen Co-chair. My background is in governance, finance and operations across a range of international companies, including expertise in establishing and chairing supervisory boards, and starting and operating enterprises in the health and wellness sector. I am also a parent living in central London, with extensive personal experience in managing my own children's health issues through the NHS.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to support CYPHP. CYPHP is a unique organisation with a valuable mission, a motivated and talented team, and a rigorous and transformative model that promises to significantly improve children's health across Lambeth and Southwark.
Last month I had the privilege to attend the boroughs' Strategic Partnership People's Assembly, and seeing CYPHP in action. The Assembly was a well organised and attended event, which brought together citizens, council representatives and healthcare professionals. CYPHP was well represented at the event, and its stand generated strong interest from the attendees.
The Assembly gave CYPHP an excellent opportunity to present its new Health Check programme, which was launched across Lambeth and Southwark GP practices earlier in March. The Health Check packs are a highly effective way to better tailor care to children's individual circumstances, as well as deliver useful health information to parents, carers and the community. Together with the other Board members, I look forward to seeing this programme deliver results over the coming months.
